Whakawhitiwhiti whakaaro whai hua , Communicating effectively
A lot of what we do is based on developing good relationships and communicating effectively.
We need to keep branching out and developing new networks and relationships within the wider community – with iwi organisations, government and health agencies and non-government and Māori organisations. It’s about using relationships to become more culturally aware and responsive. We don’t have to know everything about the Māori world. But we need to know we can access the right support and information when we need it.
And that’s where professional development and training comes in, too. There are a range of top notch providers who can help and whose work reflects the latest and best evidence.
