Prof Tony Blakely
Tony's research interests are the ethnic and socio-economic determinants of health, tobacco, neighbourhoods, and cancer control.
Tony's main research focus is as the Director of the Health Inequalities Research Programme (HIRP), which began 1 July 2005.
Tony is also interested in epidemiological methods, and annually convenes summer school courses on social epidemiology.
PHARMAC hosted Prof. Tony Blakely as part of the Māori Responsiveness Strategy staff professional development programme.
Prof. Blakely presented his research on health inequalities in New Zealand, with a particular focus on Māori.
